Amagaju FC defeated Police 1-0 in a tightly contested Rwanda Premier League week 11 game at Kigali Pele Stadium on Friday, November 29. It was a game which saw both teams playing excellent football but Amagaju won the day courtesy of a second half strike by attacker Seraphim Kiza. Police coach Vincent Mashami started with a 4-2-3-1 formation with Elijah Ani starting ahead of Peter Agblevor. Amagaju had Rachid Mapoli and Seraphim Kiza leading their frontline in an Orthodox 4-4-2 formation. From the early minutes of the game, Amagaju looked very dangerous in midfield anytime they had the ball, giving trouble to Police FC's Henry Msanga who was sitting in front of the backline. ALSO READ: Rwanda Premier League: Gorilla faces unpredictable Amagaju Police FC created a number of decent chances but their attackers Elijah Ani, Richard Kilongozi and Didier Mugisha were not prolific enough as they failed to convert them. There were scary moments for Police FC in the 40th minute but Issah Yakubu was resolute as he cleared the danger. After the break, Amagaju put pressure on Police as they sought for the opener. Their efforts yielded dividends in the 70th minute as Kiza fired them ahead with a sublime finish. It was his 5th goal in 11 games this season. Police FC reacted swiftly by pushing more men upfront for the equalizer but Amagaju’s back four were well organized as they thwarted most of their efforts. From the 80th minute, coach Amars Niyomugabo's men recoiled into their shells as they only tried to hit Police on the counter. Amagaju players defended gallantly as the game ended 1-0. It was their second major stunner in Kigali this season as they also came to Kigali Pele Stadium to draw 2-2 with Rayon on match day 2 despite having a man sent off.
