Atraco Fc coach is enthusiastic about the amount of goals his imminent strike partnership between Andre Lomami and Mark Sirengo would deliver. Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira declared how he can’t wait to release what he believes would be a deadly partnership on rival defences next season. After a season full of pure frustration watching their strikers, Theoneste Muhayimana, Abedi Mulenda and Martin Muwanga waste chance after chance, the club managers had to find solution to boost that department going into the new season. As soon as the season in which Atraco finished third, behind the champions APR and Rayon Sports ended, the first thing they did was to lay off more than half of the squad from last season. Among the released players was Ugandan striker Muwanga who ironically was the club’s leading scorer last season with seven goals. Muhayimana and Mulenda, for one reason or another survived the axe but they surely won’t be first choice next season with the arrival of Lomami and Kenyan international Sirengo. Lomami, as Muwanga at Atraco, was among 17 or so players who were deemed surplus to the requirements at APR and it didn’t take long before the taxi-men club came calling; while Sirengo joins the club after an unsuccessful spell in the Belgium second division. The prospect of playing the two together next season is one thing Ntagwabira can’t wait to do. He said, “Both are good strikers and I hope their partnership finally solves our problems in that particular department.” Having worked with both in his time as APR coach and being well aware of their stronger points, the 36-year old is ready to take a gamble of their partnership in preference to the one of Muhayimana and Mulenda.Ends
