Liberation is a continuous process- residents told

NORTHERN PROVINCE GICUMBI — Residents of Bwisige Sector were on Saturday urged to eradicate poverty through hard work and fighting of genocide ideology. Such moves, the residents were reminded was critical for steering economic development that was in turn invaluable for achieving total liberation. The call was made by Mayor Bonane Nyangezi and other area local leaders during celebrations to mark the district Liberation Day celebrations. “We should totally liberate ourselves from divisionism based on ethnic differences, which characterised the Rwandan society during past regimes,” said Nyangezi. Cecile Nyirantwari, the District Advisory Council chairperson hailed the government for eradicating poverty through the One Cow per family programme. “The Government of National Unity has for the last 15 years enabled residents of Bwisige Sector to access education by fully equipping a secondary school and having access to a health center, which were not there during past regimes,” she said. Also present at the Liberation Day celebrations were Bishop of Byumba Diocese Catholic Church Xaverine Nzakamwita, Rwanda Defense Forces (RDF) and National Police representatives. Ends
