Winger Lamine Bah and midfielder Ramadhan Niyibizi scored in either half as APR FC beat struggling Bugesera FC 2-0 in their rescheduled Rwanda Premier League match held at Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday, November 27. The result piled more misery Burundian coach Francis Haringingo whose future at the club looks less certain than before after losing two the three games that his employers gave him to save his job. APR FC head coach Darko Novic made only one change from his 11 that started against Muhazi United with Mamadou Sy start ahead of Victor Mbaoma. Ghanaian duo Seidu Dauda and Richmond Lamptey weren’t in the match sheet as they continue their recovery from illness. ALSO READ: Novic says not APR's fault fielding 7 foreign players vs Gorilla Meanwhile, under fire Bugesera FC head coach Francis Haringingo started Didier Mfanshingabo in the post ahead of MacArthur Arakaza as he looked to upset the army side. APR were so dominant in the early stages of the game as they pinned the visitors into their own half. Gilbert Mugisha and Olivier Dushimimana created a host of deadly scoring chances for the attack while Frodouard Mugiraneza again put up an outstanding performance alongside Ramadhan Niyibizi in midfield. Mugisha picked a ball on the left and beat three Bugesera players, he then found Niyibizi with a fabulous pass but the initial shot was saved by Mfanshingabo before Bah poked the rebound home to make it 1-0 for the reigning champions. Bugesera’s attacking pair Yannick Bizimana and Farouk Ssentongo struggled in front of goal as Aliou Souane and Clement Niyigena proved too aggressive for them to create neat scoring opportunities until referee Abdul Twagirumukiza blew his halftime break whistle. APR continued their dominance in ball possession while also covering all the spaces to make it hard for Bugesera to create a single chance. Novic’s side doubled their lead in the 79th minutes as Niyibizi beautifully who scored from the spot after Arakaza fouled Arsene Tuyisenge in the penalty box. The win moved APR into 6th place with 14 points and they will be looking to keep their winning run when they next face AS Kigali at Kigali Pele Stadium on December 1.
