Editor,One of the outstanding issues in Rwanda and many other developing countries is poverty. Though many developing countries have achieved impressive growth rates in agriculture in recent decades, still every stone must be turned. The Girinka project, which will give people exotic cows, is to me, one of the remarkable initiatives of the government that will push us far as far as development is concerned. Despite this success, serious concerns remain for the future. Hunger and malnutrition persist in many parts of the country. Expected increases in agricultural demand associated with population growth and rising per capita incomes will require continuing increases in agricultural productivity and modern farming. Musanze
