Nyarutarama Tennis Club (NTC) were clearly dominant during the three-day tennis tournament that pitted them against Kampala Tennis Club in Kigali from November 14-16. The event, which followed Nyarutarama Club’s visit to Uganda in April, celebrated both competitive excellence and the growing relationship between the two clubs. It also served as an opportunity to strengthen their ties while highlighting the host club’s prowess on the court. While Kampala Tennis Club claimed a narrow 9-7 victory in the men’s singles, Nyarutarama Tennis Club emerged victorious in the doubles categories, securing wins in the men’s doubles (12-10), women’s doubles (6-0), and mixed doubles (4-2). The tournament concluded with a gala dinner at Nyarutarama Gardens, where players and guests celebrated the event’s success and continued partnership between both clubs. During his remarks, Nyarutarama Tennis Club president Bart Gasana emphasized the continued support and generosity of Kampala Tennis Club as great and powerful. “The friendship has grown over the time and, through tennis, both ties have maintained unity between both countries,” Gasana said. He urged members to keep supporting each other outside Tennis and promote development amongst peers. The event also reinforced the role of tennis in fostering unity and sportsmanship beyond borders.
