The Round 3 of the 2024/25 national volleyball league weekend saw a high-stakes clash between Police and Gisagara Volleyball Clubs at Gisagara Gymnasium on Sunday, November 17. Police VC continued their unbeaten run with a commanding 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-18, 25-16) over Gisagara VC. Despite the home-court advantage, Gisagara were outplayed in every aspect of the game by a focused and dynamic Police side coached by Fred Musoni. Gisagara tried to rally with their defense, but unforced errors allowed Police to pull away, claiming the set 25-19. In the second set, Gisagara initially showed signs of resilience, with a tighter defense and better court coverage. However, Police setters orchestrated quick plays that fed their star attackers, Bettin and James Achuil Nhial, who delivered decisive kills. Libero Soduru Manzi anchored the backline with flawless receptions, helping Police secure the second set 25-18. The final set saw Police in complete control. Gisagara’s morale seemed to have diminished as they struggled to counter Police's powerful serves and organised blocks. With a combination of tactical precision and high energy, Musoni’s side closed the game with a decisive 25-16 victory, silencing the home crowd. Under Coach Fred Musoni’s guidance and captain Olivier Ntagengwa’s leadership, Police now boast a perfect record of four wins in as many game and remain early favorites in the league. In the women’s category, East African University Rwanda (EAUR) secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Wisdom School (WSD). With tight scores in the first two sets (26-24, 26-24), the match highlighted EAUR's resilience under pressure, as they edged out WSD in crucial moments. The final set, though less intense, ended 25-19, ensuring EAUR's dominance. Meanwhile, APR Women overwhelmed Ruhango VC in straight sets (25-12, 25-13, 25-9). Their consistent serves and clinical finishing left the Ruhango-based side unable to mount any significant challenge. In another women’s matchup, Kepler Volleyball Club (KEP) proved their mettle with a resounding victory over Rwanda Polytechnic Huye (RPH). The first set was a blowout, ending 25-5 in Kepler’s favor, as they outclassed their opponents in every aspect. Kepler then secured the second and third sets comfortably at 25-13 and 25-17, respectively. In the men’s category, APR stormed past Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) in a commanding performance. Their combination of powerful spikes and solid blocks earned them a 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-13, 25-17). Similarly, Kepler men’s team delivered an impressive display against Rwanda Polytechnic Ngoma (RPN), winning 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-15), hence solidifying their strong start to the season. The Round 3 games brought the best of Rwandan volleyball to Gisagara Gymnasium, creating a vibrant atmosphere for players and fans alike. The league action will resume on Friday, November 29, promising another thrilling round of matches as teams’ battle for supremacy in the 2024/25 season.
