As Eastern African University (EAU) VC prepares for their November 16 matchup against Rwanda Energy Group (REG) VC, head coach Vincent Dusabimana has emphasized his team's mental strength and continuous growth as the key to their early-season success. This weekend’s matches will take place at the University of Rwanda (UR) Huye campus pitch and Gisagara Gymnasium. EAU VC currently sits in second place with two wins and six points, tying with league leader Police VC. The team finished seventh in the 2023/24 season. Dusabimana credits their latest success to consistent effort in developing teamwork and mental toughness among players. Reflecting on the team's recent victory over Gisagara VC, Dusabimana noted that: “In our last game against Gisagara, no one expected us to come out on top, but we did. Gisagara is an experienced team, and considering that our team only joined the league last season we’ve made significant progress.” ALSO READ:EAU upset Gisagara VC in commanding victory Dusabimana who brings unique insight from his experience as a former captain of REG VC stressed the importance of focus and preparation for their upcoming match. “I know what it takes to win against REG. It’s a challenging game, but manageable. I want the players to focus on performance, not just the score. Each game is an opportunity to improve.” Dusabimana praised standout players such as left hitter Jean Paul and blocker Alex Rwanyonga for their contributions and extended gratitude to the university for its continuous support.
