RSwitch, the national e-payment switch, has redefined convenience and accessibility in Rwanda’s digital payments through eKash, the Rwanda National Digital Payment System (RNDPS). eKash aims to facilitate seamless money transfers between financial institutions and Mobile Money Operators. For many years, there hasn't been any linkage or connection between MTN Mobile money and Airtel money for consumers to digitally send money between the two operators, and this has been made possible through eKash since May 2022 customers are able to send digital money from MTN mobile to Airtel seamless and conveniently, interoperability made possible.
