Editor,I salute Gacaca courts, although indigenous, have managed to considerably quell the local anger that seemed insurmountable at end of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi. Some that don’t applaud the work done by these courts didn’t know the workload that the government was faced with. In fact, should we have given this load to outsiders to dispense their own jurisdictions? We devised a way of healing our own land as quickly as possible. This has worked greatly for the local dwellers that had had to face the perpetrators and forgive them and, as a result, reconciliation has taken place. My heart is thankful to the courts. Bugesera
