Kiyovu Sports have handed their head coach Joslin Bipfubusa a four-game suspension due to a poor run of results. Youth team coach Malick Wade is taking charge of the club on interim role. Club Secretary–General Jeanine Karangwa confirmed the decision two days after the Green Baggies’ 2-1 loss to Bugesera FC in a crunch league tie held at Kigali Pele Stadium on Saturday, October 26. Yes, we suspended him for four games, Malick Wade is the one who is going to stay with the team, Karangwa said. Kiyovu has been underperforming recently, losing five league games in a row. The club now sits at the bottom of the table with just three points. “We are not happy with results and that's why we have taken an important decision because we need to change before the league gets out of our hands,” she added. The suspension means that the Burundian coach won’t be on the touchline when the Mumena-based side takes on traditional rivals Rayon Sports in a crunch league match slated for November 2 at Kigali Pele Stadium. Kiyovu Sports’ debut to the new season has been marred by poor performances, primarily due to persisting financial crisis. Bipfubusa has been using a limited squad during the past games as the new signings including Ernest Sugira and Hamis Cedric can’t play for the club which can’t register them until its FIFA transfer ban is lifted.
