AS Kigali striker Jacques Tuyisenge was delighted with his winning goal against Mukura Victory Sports in their Premier League game on Wednesday, October 26, at Kamena Stadium. AS Kigali beat Mukura Victory Sports 1-0, thanks to the lone goal from Tuyisenge. The former Gor Mahia striker expressed his delight after his stunning strike set AS Kigali on the way to progressing to the Rwanda Premier League title. “We played a good game but we still have a lot to do in upcoming matches. The win should boost our morale in the next match. It was a good goal and I’m happy to score because it has been a long time. It’s an important goal for the team,” Tuyisenge said. Tuyisenge came from the bench to replace Man Yakre and scored the winning goal in the 58th minute. “We knew that they would come out strong. We managed the game very well and we didn’t make mistakes to concede. We worked hard, together, to get the goal. We weren’t just good on the ball but we were good off the ball as well,” Tuyisenge who joined AS Kigali as a free agent this season noted. Tuyisenge said that, in general, it was a great performance against a tough opponent. In the first half, Haruna Niyonzima missed a spot-kick. The City of Kigali-sponsored club was the better side but they failed to translate the dominance into many goals as they squandered chances as well. After six games, Mukura is 11th in the league table, with six points. AS Kigali which has played three games and won them is 4th. On the seventh day of the season, Mukura will visit Etincelles in Rubavu District, on October 30. AS Kigali will play against Gasogi United at Kigali Stadium in Nyamirambo.
