Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) concedes that the ladies’ national cricket team still has time to improve ahead of December’s ICC Eastern Africa women regional tournament that will be staged in Nairobi, Kenya.Rwanda failed their first build-up test to the tournament after two devastating defeats against Uganda last weekend. The team was beaten hands down by their Ugandan counterparts who boast of vast experience in the game. The Uganda team comprised of players who form part of the African cricket team and others who have played the game for over six years. However RCA’s chief Charles Haba who accompanied the team to Uganda insists that there were a lot of positives from the two-day tour.“The girls got a feel of what international cricket is all about. They also learnt a lot from the tournament in terms of match situations and patience,” Haba said. After Uganda’s tour, the team has taken a short break but is expected to regroup early next month for a four-week training camp ahead of the tournament. On top of reigning champions Uganda and hosts Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania are the other countries who have confirmed participation.
