Saturday (June 6) 2010 World Cup/CAN qualifier Zambia v Rwanda With only five days before the crucial world and Africa Nations Cup qualifier between Zambia and the National team-Amavubi Stars, the Zambian football federation is embroiled in a row over ticket prices for the match scheduled to be played on Saturday. The match will be played in Chiliabombwe in northern Zambia and is expected to be a sell out with fans being charged between $10 and $40. Zambian Sports Minister Kenneth Chipungu directed the local football federation to reduce the entrance fees, saying that the tickets must be reduced to affordable levels. But the Zambian football federation Communications’ Manager Erick Mwanza over ruled his boss arguing that the tickets prices were appropriate for a world cup qualifier and that the federation had no intention of lowering them. Already VIP tickets have been sold out and the number of people applying for ordinary tickets is very high for the must win match for both countries. Amavubi will fly to Lusaka tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s crunch qualifier. The team suffered a 2-0 defeat in their warm up game against Malawi. Ends
