Strictly Soul, Africa’s leading R&B and Soul event platform, is set to expand its presence in East Africa this October. Known for creating dynamic music experiences and live shows, the event continues to establish itself as an influencing soulful rhythm of R&B in the region’s nightlife and music celebration. Kampala will be Strictly Soul’s next stop on October 8, before shifting to Nairobi, Kenya, on October 9, and Kigali, Rwanda, on October 12. While mixing international R&B hits with local sounds, the event also offers a unique cultural fusion that connects with audiences. This mix was well-received in Kigali earlier in 2024 during the platform’ debut in March, where contemporary R&B—featuring a mix of keyboards, synthesisers, bass lines, and drum beats—was embraced by the city’s music lovers at Atelier Du Vin. East Africa has long embraced our vision; this October, we aim to deepen those connections. Our goal is to continue to grow the pan-African R&B and Soul community, bringing the soul of the genre to every corner of the continent.” According to Dj Akio, the October tour will feature performances from local DJs alongside the signature Strictly Soul atmosphere, giving fans an immersive experience that showcases both the global influence and local flavours of R&B. We're thrilled to return to East Africa and continue sharing our passion with fans who have embraced the soul of this music,” added Anita Makgetla, host and event curator for Strictly Soul. Founded in October 2020, the platform began as an Instagram live stream and has since grown to host events in nine cities across the continent, including Nairobi, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Gaborone, Windhoek and Kigali.
