The Rwanda Inspectorate, Competition, and Consumer Protection Authority (RICA) has introduced three crucial business services on the IremboGov platform. These services include Product Registration, Business Operator License, and Premises registration. By incorporating these services, RICA aims to streamline the regulatory compliance process for businesses operating in Rwanda. These services have been optimized for efficiency, with digital application processes which will reduce the necessity for in-person visits simplifying the process for businesses. Product Registration This service enables businesses that sell or manufacture fertilizers, chemical pesticides, and bio-pesticides to undergo efficacy trials to ensure their products meet RICA's safety and quality standards. Upon successful completion of trials, businesses receive a Product Registration Certificate, granting market access in Rwanda. Business Benefit: Streamlined registration process and faster market entry. Citizen Benefit: Assured access to agricultural products meeting high safety and quality standards. 2. Business Operator License These services facilitate business operators to register and obtain licenses in Rwanda. RICA conducts on-site visits to ensure that the company complies with safety standards. Business Benefit: Efficient licensing and legal compliance. Citizen Benefit: Assurance of safe and regulated services. Premise Registration Businesses involved in activities such as paint tinting, packaging, repacking, automotive repair, meat processing, and dairy collection are required to register their premises in accordance with RICA's health and safety regulations. Successful registration is a prerequisite for obtaining an operating license. Business Benefit: Fast-tracked registration and regulatory compliance. Citizen Benefit: Safer products and services from regulated businesses. To learn more about RICA services, visitwww.irembo.gov.rw and navigate to the 'Trade and Industry' section.
