Editor, I am very interested to witness and take part in the Umuganda this weekend. As a visitor, this will be my first experience of the event and I have to say, the idea is one I respect a great deal. I feel it is very important that citizens feel they have a responsibility to look after their local community. It breeds a sense of the environment belonging to the community and thus, encourages people to take pride in their local area. Keeping our streets clean and tidy should not be a duty left to someone else, but a responsibility which everyone shares. A great idea! Matt Bush
