AFTER watching her team tear apart Rayon Sport with a 9-0 rout at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium, APR’s women football coach Egidia Kayitesi has hailed her team for the battering. Anatoile Nirere led the mauling with four goals; Emelyne Izabayo added a brace while Fatuma Kankindi, Hamid Murekatete and Aime Flora Tuziyere all had a goal each to seal off the club’s biggest win of the season so far. Kayitesi told Times Sport that with seven games left, the club is ready to pile more pressure on table leaders AS Kigali. “At the beginning of the season, we were dogged with many injuries but I’m happy that my players have come back at the right time,” she said. “As like you saw over the weekend, we mean business. We want to retain the title but we know that to have a chance, we have to continue pulling off such results.” APR’s captain Edith Umulisa, Alice Umutoni and Alice Mutesi are some of the players who had been sidelined through injury. AS Kigali lead the table with 23 points, followed by APR with 21 points and Musanze are third with 19 points. Ends
