Rwanda’s music scene is back on airwaves with fresh new songs produced by some of the captains of the industry who, prior their releases, spent months without dropping music. From Bruce Melodie’s ‘Iyo Foto’, which features Kenyan star Bien Aime, to The Ben’s Afrobeat track ‘Plenty’, The New Times picks some of the best releases of the week. Iyo Foto – Bruce Melodie ft. Bien Aime Celebrated East African artist Bruce Melodie has teamed up with Kenyan superstar Bien for the high energy new single “Iyo Foto” – which is on his forthcoming debut album. The song, produced in mix of Afrobeats and Amapiano, has already received positive feedback from music folk in Rwanda and in the region and is hailed as one of the top collaborations of 2024. Premiered on Friday, September 27, “Iyo Foto” was directed by Fayzo Pro and is now available on all major streaming platforms. Plenty – The Ben Just a month after appearing on Kevin Kade’s hit song ‘Sikosa’, Rwanda’s RNB sensation The Ben has also treated his fans with a new single, which he dropped the same day his rival’ Bruce Melodie released ‘Iyo Photo.’ Dubbed ‘Plenty’, the song was produced by one of Rwanda’s fast-rising producers, Prince Kiiiz, who has also mastered crafting Afrobeats genre. ‘Plenty’ is available on all major streaming platforms with over 50, 000 streams so far on YouTube. Bizima – Ish Kevin Rwandan rapper Ish Kevin is not resting this year and he has already dropped visuals of ‘Bizima’, one of the songs featuring on his latest EP ‘Semana’, which is named after himself. ‘Bizima’ premiered on September 17, becoming the second video clip released on the project after ‘Iki’. Usiende - Rita Ange Kagaju After a three-year hiatus, Rita Ange Kagaju is back with a new EP ‘Volume’ that holds heavy tracks like ‘Usiende’ among others. The singer, who rose to fame in 2017 through “I'm the Future” music competition and swiftly embarked on a solo career a year later, has been pursuing her studies in the United States since 2021. ‘Usiende’ is the first video clip to drop on the EP that she dropped on September 26. Yee Fanta - AMATIKU Producer and singer, Yee Fanta, who is poised to make a remarkable impact in the music industry, has dropped yet another Track dubbed ‘Amatiku,’ which freestyles the ongoing sagas and trends in Rwandan showbiz. ‘Amatiku’ dropped this week and is already among the most trending songs in the country. Igisabo by Zuba Ray Zuba Ray, a new artiste under Kina Music record label, has launched her music career with the release of single track, ‘Igisabo.’ ‘Igisabo’ was composed and produced by Kina Music founder and CEO Clement Ishimwe. Zuba Ray, 20, is a product of Nyundo School of Arts based in Muhanga District, Southern Province.
