Rwanda’s culture through children’ eyes

My name is Paul Habyarimana and I am 12 years old. I know my culture through speaking my language. Kinya-rwanda is my first language and my mother tongue even though I am learning English. This makes me feel good about being Rwandan. Oliver Hakizimana is my name and I am 9 years old. My culture is good because it entertains me. The way we dance and sing music is what I love about my Rwandan culture. I am called Passy Mugabe and I am 13 years old. I was told that keeping cattle is an important part of our culture. When I see many people in Rwanda who love and enjoy keeping cattle, I get amazed right away. My name is Samuel Mukisa and I am 9 years old. I am learning my culture through dancing the Rwandan traditional dance. It’s challenging but I have the interest. My friends train me and when I learn, I want to teach others too. I am Rose Umutesi. I love my culture because it makes me feel special. If other people love it, why can’t I? Eliya Bizima is my name and I am 10 years old. Our teachers and elders tell us about culture. I know that my culture teaches us so many good morals which I want to learn and understand. Ends
