Semi-finals playoffs Game 1: Friday, September 27 APR Vs GS Marie Reine 6pm REG Vs Kepler 8:30pm APR women basketball club’s defense for the championship is reaching a crucial stage as they begin the playoffs of the women’s basketball league. The army side’s ladies will Friday take on underdogs Groupe Scolaire Marie Reine in Game 1 of the semi-finals playoffs which will take place at Petit Stade indoor gymnasium. The pair will play a best-of-five series semi-finals and the winner will qualify for the finals which will be played in a best-of-seven series format. APR, who finished the regular season at the top of the standings, and Marie Reine (4) are two of the four teams which qualified for the playoffs. Others include Rwanda Energy Group (REG) (2) and Kepler (3) who will also face off in another semifinal playoffs matchup. Prior to Friday’s Game 1, APR coach Charles Mushumba told Times Sport that he expecting nothing from his ladies but a perfect start to the playoff with a win. “Every game matters in these series, we are going into Game 1 aiming for a positive beginning, Mushumba said. Game 1 fixtures take place this Friday while Game 2 are scheduled for Sunday. The finals will take place from October 7 through 20th at Petit Stade, in a best-of-seven series. The champions will represent Rwanda at the 2024 Africa Zone Five club championship scheduled between October and November.
