City gets new Vice Mayor

NYARUGENGE – Alphonse Nizeyimana is the new Kigali City Vice Mayor in charge of Economic Affairs after scooping the majority of the votes cast during the by-election for the MVK post held yesterday to replace Dieudonne Rumaragishyika who resigned earlier in the year. A total of 132 votes were cast yesterday by members of the three districts and Kigali City Councils. The results released by the National Electoral Commission indicate that Nizeyimana got 113 of the total number of votes cast. Nizeyimana, 35, had to take his second oath of the day as he had earlier on been sworn in as a member of the Kigali City Council.
