As the preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2022 are in high gear, DStv has revealed that it will be the only pay Tv company to broadcast all 64 matches from November 20 up to December 18th 2022. The development was disclosed during a press conference that took place on Thursday, October 20 at Tele 10 /DStv Rwanda Headquarters. Speaking to the media, the Managing Director of Tele 10 group, Augustin Muhirwa, said that since the start of Tele10/DStv Rwanda in 1995, their goal has been to provide high-quality images as well as give multiple choices to their clients and help them access various new content among others. Muhirwa pointed out that as part of making their clients’ demand their priority, they will broadcast all 64 matches in the World Cup through 10 football channels, among 22 sports channels available on DStv including SuperSport, ESPN, and ESPN 2 among others. Commenting on the requirement to secure a decoder during this period, he revealed that they have reduced the prices to avail their services to a big number of people during this period and after the world cup, revealing that they have more coming up soon. “Now we are selling the decoder with the package which will allow a client to see World Cup at Rwf 36,300 for new subscribers and the subscription (Compact bouquet) of Rwf 31,000 for the existing ones” he explained. Muhirwa explained the uniqueness of their service noting that they have two types of decoders, where one of them dubbed ‘Explorer’ can allow a client to record an event and watch it later as well as pause while watching; ‘Extra view, PVR access and Catch up.’ “Its price was also reduced during this period of World Cup,” he added. Edmond Marie Nkusi, the Head of Sales and Marketing Department at DStv Rwanda, while speaking on the same occasion, assured the public that there is enough stock to satisfy clients’ demand. Adding that, there are also enough agents countrywide to help them without traveling to the headquarters. He advised their clients to pay online and encourage them to make payment when the decoder is on. Nkusi also disclosed that they have also started a competition to help their clients winning decoders before the World Cup begins. To win, one has to respond to some questions and people will participate via a link is available on all DStv Rwanda social media platforms.
