Police FC head coach Vincent Mashami has praised his players for showing their character in victory over Muhazi United. Burundian duo Richard Kilongozi and Abedi Bigirimana as well as striker Elijah Ani were all on target as the law enforcers thrashed Muhazi United 3-0 at Kigali Pele Stadium on Monday, September 23. Mashami admitted that the visitors were a big threat throughout the game but his charges seized their chances getting the goals which secured them a victory. I am so happy that we won the game. Muhazi United showed that they are a good team but in the end, my team got the victory, Mashami told the press. We got two of our goals in two minutes late in second half. Those who started were very tired and that was even why I brought in Didier Mugisha. Agblevor close to returning to action Police have for months been playing without striker Peter Agblevor who is yet to play a competitive game this season due to an injury. Mashami hinted that the Ghanaian is close to full recovery and could resume playing but insisted that he can’t risk him. Peter wants to play but we still have doubts on him due to his injury but maybe, in two weeks’ time, he will be playing, he said. They will next take on Kiyovu Sports on Thursday, September 26, in a rescheduled Week 2 matchday fixture which had been postponed as the law enforcers were on CAF Confederation Cup duty.
