Lucien Bikamba and Eric Mbarushimana each scored a try and then John Adams Mugabo added a conversion to condemn Gorillas to their first league defeat. Olivier Uwamahoro converted a penalty for Gorillas but it was not enough as Bikamba scored another conversion to seal Buffaloes’s win. The Remera based side has now won three consecutive matches and they lead the rugby league with 14 points, (each match won is 4 points and 1 bonus point for 4 tries and above). They are followed by UNR Grizzlies with 12 points after getting a walk over Tiger Fort, who pulled out the League on technical grounds. Sharks are third with five points. Buffaloes coach Gerald Nsenga attributes their good form to hard work by the players and the efficient management of the club. “The club is managed efficiently and we push the players to work hard because that is the only guarantee for winning. The Players also turn up for training regularly,” Nsenga said. Meanwhile, the match between Sharks and Lion de Fer was called off after Lion de Fer failed to raise a full team. “Lion de Fer told us that most of their players were not around, so they agreed with Sharks to play the match on Saturday,” the local rugby federation Secretary General Janvier Ugeziwe told Times Sport.
