Basketball league leaders Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are confident they can retain the 2021/22 national basketball league title. They now lead the table with 42 points, four points ahead of second placed APR, while Patriots are in third place with 36 points. Speaking to Times Sport on Monday, Mwinuka said that his team’s ultimate goal this season is winning the league title, challenging the players that “nothing should stop us. “The title race is still wide open,” he acknowledged, noting that he did not expect Patriots and APR to easily give up on the title, but believed his players would step up to the challenge,” Mwinuka said. He added “Here every team has the ability to win this year’s title. We will do our best until the last game of the tournament.” REG will play two games against Rusizi and Patriots before the Playoffs game.
