France-based Rwandan artiste and actress, Shanel, real name Ruth Shanel Nirere, is scheduled to perform in Kigali on Thursday, July 7 in a concert dubbed “Intashyo Concert” which will take place at L’espace in Kacyiru. The concert, organised by Kanan Connections is in line with reconnecting her with the audience. “She was last in Rwanda in 2019, before COVID-19 and if theres one thing she craved is to share an artistic moment with her fans and that is the reason why the concert is called Intashyo,” Didier Kananura, the managing director of Kanan Connections told The New Times. In addition, he revealed that Nirere during the concert will also launch one of the projects she has been working on dubbed Araho Tea. The Ndarota hitmaker has been in the music and film industry for over 20 years and her recent song is called ‘Araho’ which testifies the resilience and courage of the survivors of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Commenting on the show, Shanel said that she missed home but she finally came to perform and hoped to see the revelers turning up. The tickets are already on sale at Rwf 30,000 per person and all the attendees have to be fully vaccinated.
