The Association of Rwandans living in North Dakota in collaboration with the Rwandan Embassy in the United States have organised the Rwanda Liberation Day Party scheduled to take place on July 3, in Dickinson. As the host of this event, Ally Soudy told The New Times that the celebrations are to honor those who sacrificed themselves to serve the nation. Afrobeats and R&B artiste, Kamichi, will be the only Rwandan to headline the event. Organisers said that this is because the singer’s fans requested that he becomes a part of this. As a Rwandan living in the USA, our Liberation Day matters. I was in Rwanda during the 1994 Genocide against Tutsi, and all this reminds me of the way RPF Inkotanyi rescued my life and my family as well. So these are both important days which call for a celebration, said Kamichi. He added that it is such a huge blessing to hit the stage and so revealers should expect more from him since he cant take the opportunity for granted. The North Dakota community is ready for me. I will use all my energy to give you what you truly deserve as we celebrate our countrys liberation and independence at large, The singer, known for songs like Aho Ruzingiye, Mwenyura, Warambeshye, Imitoma and My Karabo, revealed that he has been busy working on his 15 song-album which he hopes to release this year. Soudy revealed that they have been doing some events, including Kwibuka 28 which happened last month. Regarding the near future, he said, we are planning to organize a cultural night and end of the year event for the fourth time and we will keep you posted. Though it wasnt yet confirmed, the show may even be aired live on ‘Ally Soudy On Air’ for those who wont make it at the venue or those living in Rwanda and other places. The event is taking place in North Dakota, Dickinson City at 2475 W. Broadway S Dickinson, ND 58601. With different artistes performing and promoting the ‘Umoja Credit Union,’ the show will go down with some dances until late.
