THERE IS NOTHING more thrilling like doing something you love and are passionate about, especially if you see yourself growing in that certain career. Such is the case of a 20-year-old Charles Mutuyimana, an RnB artiste, also known as Pride, who enrolled in music in November 2020, after completing high school. Despite misunderstandings with his first label that approached him after discovering his cover song of Sauti Sol ‘Insecure’, Pride’s passion has pushed him to do more and become better each day. The young artiste’s voice took many of his friends by storm after hearing him sing for the first time. Even though his friends were shocked after finding out that he could actually sing, he had known he was talented since high school. “When I was young, music was always part of my daily life and then I discovered my passion for music so I knew that when it’s the right time I will do music professionally. I realised that I must not allow my dream to die because there were nothing else that I wanted to do as much as music,” says Pride. He has now released five songs including ‘Tasiyana’, ‘Ntiduhuje’, ‘Love’, and ‘Maya’ and ‘Down’ his recent track that got great feedback by Rwandans on radios and clubs. Asked where he sees himself in the future, Pride revealed that he sees so much greatness in it basing on the spirit of hard work that he has for music and from the feedback he gets from people who listen to his music. “The feedback is positive and very encouraging so I don’t plan on stopping, the movement continues,” he said.
