A celebration of Afro music, will see South African rapper Nasty C, Nigeria’s finest Tekno and Fave, alongside Khaligraph Jones of Kenya headline the highly anticipated Chop Life Kigali concert staged this Saturday, June 25. Other artistes confirmed for the concert include a fast rising generation in Rwanda’s music scene represented by Kenny Sol, Bushali, pioneer of kinya trap genre, Ariel Ways, Afrique, Okkama and Bruce Melodie. The show will be held at the BK Arena and hosted by one of Africa’s best disc jockeys, DJ Neptune. Organised by Empawa Africa in partnership with Visit Rwanda and Intore Ent, the concert aims at showcasing a new type of star studded party experience to partygoers. Speaking to The New Times, Bruce Intore, founder of Intore Ent, said that Chop Life Kigali is here to introduce a different party lifestyle in Rwanda with a long line up of headliners from in and outside the country. “The line up says it all. We are going to have only the best of Africa plus currently hitmakers in Rwanda on the stage. This is something new and we wish to have a minimum of a Chop Life event every quarter,” Intore said. Intore who is also behind the famous Intore Sunday’s further noted that Chop Life’s stage and lighting will have a club atmosphere to create the perfect ambience for revellers. According to him, this event also aims to introduce Rwanda to different artistes and partygoers which is in line with the Visit Rwanda campaign to showcase Rwanda’s breathtaking tourism attractions, iconic sporting and events facilities. The event will take place during the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) that kicked off in Kigali on Sunday but it’s not part of CHOGM activities, organisers said. DJs Toxxyk and Ira will be the main deejays for Chop Life Kigali. Tickets to the show are already available on Rwf10,000 Upper Bowl, Rwf20,000 Lower Bowl and VVIP Rwf35,000.
