A TOTAL OF 16 LOCAL ARTISTES and four DJs are expected to perform in concerts dubbed Peoples concerts during the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) week. The two concerts are scheduled to take place on June 24, at Rugende Park in Gasabo district and Tapis Rouge in Nyarugenge district on June 26. The expected artistes are Knowless Butera, Ariel ways, Okkama, Bushali, Riderman, Fireman, Juno Kizigenza, Kenny Sol, and Niyo Bosco among others While the DJs are DJ Ira, Brianne, Bisoso, and Marnaud. This concert is among many more fun and exciting activities that have been planned for delegates and locals to enjoy. Those social events include CHOGM Cricket Tournament, CHOGM street festival, and Kigali Night Run among others. Commenting on the concerts through his Twitter account Alain Mukuralinda, the deputy government spokesperson mentioned that artistes will entertain the city of Kigali to the fullest during CHOGM. This week, 35 Heads of Government will be in Rwanda to participate in CHOGM, along with about 5,000 delegates from around the world. Among the delegates expected are several First Ladies. The meeting includes various forums such as the youth forum which kicked off on Sunday, June 19, the Women Forum, the People’s Forum, the Business Forum, and the Heads of Government Meeting (the main event), as well as other side events. The Commonwealth is home to a third of the world’s population with about 2.6 billion people - out of 7.9 billion globally – living in the Commonwealths 54 countries.
