American renowned singer and actor, Ne-Yo, is expected to perform at a concert organised by a Rwandan, DJ Innox. The concert will take place on July 9, in Maine, Portland. DJ Innox, co-founder of Innox Entertainment, is a prominent showbiz personality in the Rwandan diaspora, and was instrumental in helping The Ben secure his collaboration song ‘Why’ with Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz. The disc jockey regularly invites various Rwandan and American artists to his concerts, but Ne-Yo will be his biggest performer yet. He confirmed the performance of the Grammy Award-winning musician via Innox Entertainment’s Instagram page on Tuesday. “For the first time in Portland, Maine, Grammy award winner Ne-Yo will be [performing] live. It’s gonna be a movie,” the events firm said. Born Shaffer Chimere Smith, Ne-Yo performed in Kigali in September 2019, at a sold-out concert that was also attended by President Paul Kagame and several other prominent figures. Ne-Yo was in the country for the occasion of naming a baby gorilla Biracyaza during that year’s Gorilla Naming ‘Kwita Izina’ ceremony.
