Ambassador Charles Kayonga presented his letters of credence to President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jormat Tokayev at the Presidential Palace in Astana on Wednesday, September 11. Kayonga, who serves as Rwanda’s Ambassador to Türkiye, is also accredited to Azerbaijan and Lebanon. ALSO READ: Kayonga named Rwandan envoy in Türkiye The retired Lieutenant General was appointed as ambassador to Türkiye in November 2023, replacing Fidelis Mironko, who had held the post since 2020. A former Chief of Defence Staff of Rwanda Defence Force (RDF), Kayonga had previously served as Rwanda’s Ambassador to China until 2019. He was retired from military service in August 2023.
