NORTHERN PROVINCE MUSANZE — Local authorities in Ruhengeri town have resolved to pull down old structures as part of an effort to redevelop the town. Part of the exercise targets unplanned settlements.While at a meeting with the area businessmen on Tuesday, Muhoza Sector Executive Secretary, Amiel Ndahiro explained that the decision was reached at in order to ensure proper settlement and modernisation of the town. He however, added that landlords will be given an opportunity to renovate their buildings. In response residents complained that firms contracted to clean the town were actually doing a shoddy job. Upon being interviewed residents noted with concern that most of the real estate structures around town still lack basic amenities. Ends
