Refugees safe to come back home
Today we report of 80 refugees who have returned from Uganda. This is a welcome move, which should be followed by the remaining thousands, who are based at the two camps of Nakivale and Nshungerezi. The tripartite agreement between the governments of Rwanda, Uganda and the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) to repatriate the refugees who fled Rwanda after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, was long overdue. Enough resources from the partners will ensure a smooth repatriation process, in terms of transporting people, and getting them home to safety.
