Host nation Rwanda has been handed a tough draw in the U19 Women's Cricket World Cup qualifiers which gets underway in Kigali from September 22-29. The International Cricket Council (ICC) pitted Rwanda against neighbors Uganda, as well as giants Kenya and Namibia in Group A of the draw that took place on Sunday, September 10. The draw also saw Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Nigeria and Malawi pooled in Group B. Rwanda qualified for the U19 Cricket World Cup in South Africa in 2023 where they reached the Super Six. They will be aiming to qualify for the competition again and go a step further. ALSO READ: Cricket: All is set for U19 womens WC Africa Qualifier in Kigali Mahatlane Lawrence’s side will begin their campaign on Sunday, September 22, against Kenya before taking on Namibia the following day. They will round up against rivals Uganda on September 25. All fixtures will take place at Gahanga Cricket Stadium. Two top teams in each group will advance to the semifinals which will take place on September 28. The final will take place on September 29.
