Rwandan golfer Celestine Nsanzuwera emerged first runner-up in the 19th Johnnie Walker Uganda Professional Golf Open which concluded on Saturday, September 7. The youngster scored 70, 73, 72, 68 to amass a total of 283 as he trailed eventual winner John Wayne Moore of Zambia who had 281 points to emerge Victorious. Kenya’s Dismas Indiza, winner of the 2023 edition, had 284 points to finish third. Nsanzuwera, who was awarded the best professional golfer in the first stage of the competition, took home a cash prize of 21,000,000 Ugandan Shillings (5600 USD) and a trophy. The budding Rwandan golfer also secured a sponsorship to participate in the 2024 Kenya Open which will be held later this year. He represented Rwanda in the 2024 Uganda Open alongside his brother Aloys Nsabimana.
