UNIFEM boss commends Rwanda’s gender parity
GASABO - The visiting United Nation’s Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM) Executive Director, Ines Alberdi, has expressed satisfaction over women’s prominence and parity in the country’s governance. Ms Alberdi, who arrived in Kigali early this week for her first visit in Rwanda, is on a working visit in the region. Kigali hosts the UNIFEM’s central African regional office that covers nine countries. Addressing Journalists shortly after meeting President Paul Kagame yesterday, Alberdi said Rwanda is a unique country in the world where women have a significant representation in all the sectors of life, including justice, parliament, and police among others.
