Each piece resonates with the struggles and triumphs that many can relate to, offering both comfort and contemplation to readers,” said Bazimya. Bazimya’s decision to share these intimate reflections stems from his desire to connect with others on a deeper level. He explains that the central theme of ‘Daunting Whispers’ is love and life, as two forces that shape people in profound ways. Through his poetry, he aims to encourage readers to see themselves in the stories he tells, to recognise their own struggles, and to find hope in the knowledge that they are not alone. “The characters in my poems are drawn from real-life events and emotions, making them relatable and authentic. Whether it’s a poem about heartbreak, shaped by personal encounters, or a piece on mental health, inspired by my own journey, the characters and scenarios in the book are a reflection of the world around us.” ALSO READ: Five inspirational reads for the weekend He also said that the collection is not merely a recount of personal experiences, but a broader commentary on the universal truths that define our lives. From the highs of love to the depths of mental health battles, serving as a mirror reflecting the complexities of existence. The process of creating ‘Daunting Whispers’ was both challenging and rewarding. Bazimya, started with over 110 poems, each one a piece of his ‘soul’, and ‘painstakingly narrowed’ them down to the 56 that best captured the essence of his message. “This was no easy task, as I had to consider not only the quality of the poems but also the coherence of the overall collection. I wanted to ensure that each poem contributed to the central themes, and that the book as a whole would leave a lasting impact on readers,” he explained. The collection is intended for a broad audience, with a particular focus on youth. However, the themes of love, life, and resilience are universal, making the book appealing to readers of all ages.
