Editor, Last week, I got surprised when a taxi conductor stopped us passengers from entering a coaster that we (passengers) preferred to travel in, instead of his old “twegerane” taxi. His taxi was, not only small, but also looked like it was in a dangerous mechanical state. As we laboured to explain why we preferred the coaster to his old vehicle, the man vehemently refused to listen as he held the coaster’s door with all his strength. Most people would rather use coasters because of the better seating arrangements and the fact that most of them are still new. The “twegerane” on the other are uncomfortable. I think it would be great if those concerned considered the sole use of coasters for town service as most “twegerane” taxis are not in proper mechanical condition. In the interest of time and regarding the growing population in the city, all we need are vehicles that can carry large numbers of passengers at once. Kimironko
