Haruna praying for Atraco slip-up

APR midfielder Haruna Niyonzima believes that the military side is very much still in with a shout as far as this year’s league title race is concerned. With three fixtures left for the nine-time league winner (against Kiyovu, Electrogaz and Mukura), Niyonzima said, “At this stage, we can win (the league) or not.” “Everything and anything is possible in football. At this stage it’s hard to predict whether we are winning the title or not. We may win it or not. “We only have to win the remaining matches and wait to see what happens at the other end (Atraco). “Of course Atraco are ahead of us and are favourites to retain the title but we can’t given up just yet. The race is on until the last game,” said the Rwandan international. The former Etincelles star played an outstanding role as the military side thrashed Police 7-1 on Sunday. Congolese striker Bokungu Ndjoli bagged a hat trick, which took his season’s tally to eleven league goals. Both Djabir Mutarambirwa and Jean Mugiraneza scored a brace each to keep Erik Paske’s side in the race. Former APR striker Roger Tuyisenge scored Police’s consolation. Police remain eighth with 22 points from in 19 matches. Rayon Sport’s title hopes were dealt another major blow on Saturday as they were beaten 3-2 by relegation fighting Marines on Saturday. Marines climbed from eleventh position to ninth position with 19 points while Rayon Sport stayed third, three points behind APR. SC Kiyovu moved further away from the drop zone with a 1-0 win over Electrogaz at Mumena stadium. Jack Tuyisenge netted the winner on the 16th minute to lift the Nyamirambo based club to sixth position with 23 points. Electrogaz remain fourth with 24 points. Ends
