It’s been about a year since Amalon released new music, but now he is back with two tracks as an extended playlist (EP). The singer, real name Amani Bizimana, says he has been in a hiatus but is now back and wants his songs to once again top the list of fans’ playlists. “I have been in a transition to change the way I was working, now I’m coming to claim my place. I want to make my fans and other music fans put my songs at the top of their playlists again,” Amalon says. Amalon reveals that he has been exploring many things and recording many songs as well as writing, and has released an extended playlist with two songs. He says there is more in stock for fans. “When I was on a break last year, I was mostly recording, travelling, and looking at the other musicians, local and foreign, to see what they were doing and bring another style in what I do,” he explains. Amalon’s new songs on the EP are ‘Loyalty’ and ‘Wanchekecha’. He says that ‘Loyalty’ is a beautiful love story whereas ‘Wanchekecha’ is an East African tune. “I’m an East African, I wanted to come up with something of regional standards, that’s what is behind the ‘Wanchekecha’ name,” he reveals. “I want to give the name Amalon a strong base, building my name from the roots so that I can build a strong machine in this music industry.” These two songs, he says, will prepare fans for better things coming up. “Soon, I want to release the video of one these songs, then in two months I will release another. I want the fans to be familiar with the EP,” Amalon tells Weekender. After parting ways with the 1K management, Amalon is now his own manager. Since his introduction to the local music scene, Amalon has made many songs which have won the hearts of Rwandans like ‘Yambi’, ‘Byakubaho’, ‘Derilla’, ‘Amabara’, ‘Impanga’, ‘Byukuri’, and ‘Ngirente’.
