Another Genocide suspect, Jean-Paul Micomyiza appeared in court on May 13 for the first time since his extradition on April 27, where the Kicukiro Primary Court postponed his pre-trial hearing to this week. The same court ruled to conduct the pre-trial hearing of Dieudonné Ishimwe commonly known as ‘Prince Kid,’ charged with sex crimes in camera (closed to the public). Later in the week, on May 13, the government of Rwanda lifted the mandatory wearing of face masks in public as a prevention against Covid-19, effective May 14. Earlier that day, young innovators won a grand prize of 10,000 USD each after pitching innovative ideas that promote sexual reproductive health and mental health in the iAccelerator challenge by Imbuto Foundation. That same Friday saw thousands show up for the now famous Kigali Night Run. The week wound up the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Vincent Biruta’s official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where he held a bilateral meeting with the Min of Foreign Affairs, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan al-Saud.
