APR FC will face Rayon Sports on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the Peace Cup semifinals first round game at the Kigali Stadium. Games between APR and Rayon Sports have over the years lived up to the heavy hype and the upcoming encounter in midweek promises to also live up to expectations. Already this season, the two teams have played twice in the league with the defending league champions having the bragging rights as they came from behind to win the first leg 2-1 with the second leg ending in a goalless draw. A lot is at stake in Wednesdays game as the team which utilizes its chances and remains resolute at the back stands a good chance of winning the tie. Both teams have great talents who can be very pivotal and single handedly propel their side to victory. Times Sport takes a look at five players who can decide the epic clash on Wednesday. Willy Leandre Onana (Rayon Sports) He netted earlier on in the season when the two sides met as Rayon lost by 2-1 and he will be hoping to lead the Blues to victory. On any good day, the flamboyant Cameroonian attacker remains a real headache for any defence. Onana has it all, he is skilful, intelligent, makes good passes, dribbles and scores also. Just one moment of brilliance from him can decide the game. Yannick Bizimana (APR FC) The APR FC striker put up a classy showing in the two games against Rayon where he created some decent goal scoring chances. Bizimana has not had his best form after those extraordinary performances against Rayon and will be looking forward to hit the ground running again. If the balls are delivered to him, he can create chances on his own upfront. Kevin Muhire (Rayon Sports) The best midfielder in the league by a mile. Muhire is a typical playmaker who can dictate the pace of the game. His midfield partners namely Blaise Nishimwe and Pierrot Kwizera must try and release the balls early to him as one pass from Muhire can decide this tie. Djabel Manishimwe (APR FC) It will certainly be a midfield battle between Manishimwe and Muhire as both players remain the engine of their teams. Just like Muhire, one magical pass from Manishimwe in midfield can win the game for APR. Omborenga Fitina (APR FC) The overlapping lateral defender has been in good form for APR with his surging runs down the flanks. Fitina is very tactical as he defends gallantly at the back and also pops up on the line with his marauding runs to deliver crosses into the penalty area. He is one of the players who can cause havoc due to his pace if he is not pinned down.
