South African disc jockey, Uncle Waffles, lighted up fans and lovers of the Amapiano genre in Kigali last night at Mez Park during the second edition of Intore Sundays event. Intore Sundays is an event organised by a renowned entertainment firm, Intore Ent, which takes place every first week of the month. It attracts many youth and is used for both entertainment and networking platforms, where youth meet and exchange ideas to develop. Uncle Waffles, who is among the best Amapiano disc jockeys in the world was the first female deejay to headline a mega concert in Rwanda. Unlike the previous edition, this time organizers of Intore Sundays decided to throw a one genre party. Uncle Waffles played Amapiano songs only for almost one hour and a half. Sharon and Rusam, a new DJ duo in Kigali were the first to open the show playing some of the trending Rwandan songs at the moment. The two girls have already started gaining admiration and attention from music lovers of Kigali. Other DJs who played at the highly anticipated show include Toxxyk, Kantona hit maker, Pyfo, Kalex, and DJ Blow who is one of the trending disc jockeys in Kigali now. Uncle Waffles arrived at the stage around 9:30 pm playing ‘Halala’ by Mr Jazziq, a track that introduced everyone to the party mood. Revellers danced with Uncle waffles from the first minute to the end of her live set. The female disc jockey played most of the songs on her recently released EP dubbed Red Room Dragoon. The Tanzania hit maker almost single handedly turned the usually tame Intore Sundays into one big happy dance fest. It was a night to remember as thousands of music lovers partied and danced to some of the trending Amapaino songs such as uMlando, Tick, Abo Mvelo and many others. Born Lungelien Zwane, the 22 year old celebrated deejay is also a professional model that has won several fashion accolades in her home country. Her antics on the decks won her a huge following on social media. She runs the party!.
