Editor, Its totally unjust to pretend to be Genocide Survivors just to rob FARG of the money meant to support genuine genocide survivors. In any case its not fun being an orphan yet some people are busy pretending to be orphans. It should be regarded as a form of genocide ideology as well. For heavensake, responsible Rwandans should think of injecting more funds in FARG rather than exploiting it. Given the number of genocide survivors that Rwanda has; it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that they are catered for. Instead, some people have just gone ahead to register their children as orphans. An example is in The New Times of Thursday, where a woman claimed her husband had died so that FARG could pay for her son’s tuition. Why can’t we develop a culture of working to satisfy our needs rather than cheating? It’s really shameful to line up for FARG funds when deep in your heart you know you shouldn’t be. We should let orphans get access to education, they deserve more. Pay your children’s fees; after all its your responsibility. Concerned Samuel Mukiibi Kampala
