Rwanda has been drawn in Group C at the 2024 FIBA Africa Men’s U18 Basketball Championship, which gets underway from September 2-14 in Pretoria, South Africa. Yves Murenzi’s national youth side shares the same group with Morocco, South Africa and Zambia. FIBA Africa attributed wildcards to Côte d'Ivoire and Rwanda to complete the 12-team line-up. The finalists of the FIBA U18 AfroBasket 2024 will represent Africa at next year's FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup in Switzerland. Meanwhile, in the women's category, Rwanda is in Group A alongside South Africa, Tunisia and Cameroon. Competition system In the Group Phase, teams will face off in a round-robin system. The teams that finish first and second in each group will advance to the quarter-finals and will be joined by the two best third-placed teams. The winners of the quarter-final advance to semi-finals, while the losers will play the classification games for the 5th to 8th Places. The classification games for third-place and the final will be played on the last day of competition. Men's group draw Group A: Mali, Côte d'Ivoire, Cameroon and Senegal. Group B: Egypt, Angola, Angola and Nigeria. Group C: South Africa, Morocco, Zambia and Rwanda. Women's group draw Group A: South Africa, Tunisia, Cameroon and Rwanda. Group B: Mali, Morocco, Zambia, and Angola. Group C: Egypt, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Nigeria.
