Today Grizzlies v Puma SundayLion de Fer v BuffaloesSharks v Gorillas After loosing two consecutive matches, UNR Grizzlies Rugby club will be hoping for a change in fortune when they play Puma this afternoon at Kamonyi ground, Muhanga. The National University outfit was thumped 95-0 by last year’s champions Remera Buffaloes in the opening match of the season and again lost 22-13 against Lion de Fer last weekend. Grizzlies head coach Alphonse Umugire told Times Sport that their poor form in the last two matches was a result of lack of facilitation from the university authority which doesn’t seem to appreciate the value of the sport. “The university administration has not been giving us any kind of support both financial and logistical. “What hurts most is that the (university) football team is provided with everything they ask for yet other sports including rugby are getting nothing,” Umugire said.. The game will be Puma’s first of the season after their would-be league opener against Buffaloes was postponed because most of their (Puma) players are students and were on school holiday by the time the match was supposed to be played. Meanwhile, Sharks will be looking to continue their good form when they entertain Gorillas at Rugunga playgrounds tomorrow afternoon. Sharks walloped Simba 120-0 last weekend. That match at 2 o’clock will be followed by the clash between the champions Remera Buffaloes and last year’s league runner up Lion de Fer at 4pm. Sharks lead the league with five points; level with Remera Buffaloes but the former have a superior point’s difference of 120 against 95. Ends
