Rwanda’s oldest club thrashed second division side Military Fc 5-1 at Mumena stadium to put themselves in better position to reach the last four. Jean de Dieu Figo, Ildebrand Nshuti (2) and Muhamud Ngabonziba netted for the old giants while Jean Musa scored Military’s consolation. And team captain Yahaya Serubungo says that Kiyovu’s ambition is to lift this year’s MTN Peace Cup. “We have gained form ever since the second leg of the national football league started and I have no doubt we are also in the run for the MTN Peace Cup title,” Serubungo said. League champions Atraco defeated another second division club Zebres 2-1 while Electrogaz lost 1-0 to Marines in Gisenyi and Amagaju defeated visitors AS Kigali 1-0 in Nyamagabe. Mukura knocked out Gisovu Tea Factory following a 3-1 victory over home side. Mukura will play La Jeunesse in the 1/8 round after going through on 4-1 goal aggregates. The winner of the MTN sponsored competition whose final will be played on July 4 will scoop Frw10 millions. Ends
