Zephanie Niyonkuru, who was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports (MINISPORTS), has been relieved of his duties. Niyonkuru was appointed as the Permanent Secretary in a Cabinet meeting on January 30, 2023, succeeding Didier Shema Maboko. His removal from cabinet comes a week after a broader Cabinet reshuffle by President Kagame, which also saw Aurore Mimosa Munyangaju replaced by Richard Nyirishema as the Minister of Sports.
